Freedom House Calls on U.S. To Adjust Policy Toward China

Freedom House joins eight other human rights organizations in urging Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to more forcefully emphasize human rights in dealings with China. The joint letter says, “[T]he United States undermines its interests and compromises its ability to secure progress on other issues when it subordinates human rights concerns. … [T]he U.S. must raise—with equal prominence and confidence—human rights issues alongside economic, strategic, and diplomatic concerns.” Read the letter here.
