Freedom House, Lifeline Fund for Civil Society, Receives Grant from Ford Foundation

Washington, DC

Freedom House has received a grant of $100,000 from the Ford Foundation for the Lifeline Embattled CSO Assistance Fund, a Freedom House-led international consortium that provides emergency assistance and advocacy support to civil society organizations (CSOs) under threat. Lifeline supports a variety of CSOs around the world, including human rights organizations, journalist associations, student groups, labor unions, and think tanks. To date, Lifeline has supported over 240 CSOs in over 60 countries.

“At a time when civil society is increasingly coming under attack across the globe, support from the Ford Foundation will enable us to help activists continue their work and speak out for the rights of their fellow citizens,” said David J. Kramer, President of Freedom House.
