Freedom House supports Senate confirmation of Mark Green to become USAID Administrator

In response to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s approval of the nomination of Mark Green to serve as Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, Freedom House issued the following statement:

“Mark Green has shown exemplary leadership on and deep commitment to democracy and development over many years,” said Michael J. Abramowitz, president. “He fully appreciates the critical importance of U.S. leadership, and USAID particularly, in supporting freedom around the world. We call on the full Senate to approve his nomination to serve as the next USAID Administrator.”

The United States is rated Free in Freedom in the World 2017, Free in Freedom of the Press 2017, and Free in Freedom on the Net 2016.
