Freedom House Unveils "China Media Bulletin"
November 29, 2010
Freedom House today introduces the “China Media Bulletin,” a news digest and succinct analysis focusing on traditional media and internet freedom issues related to the People’s Republic of China.
Drawing on both English and Chinese-language sources, each week the China Media Bulletin will include sections that examine key broadcast and print media news, as well as new media and technology developments in the PRC. In addition, this weekly review will cover the main media freedom developments in Tibet and Xinjiang, as well as in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
“This initiative will help focus attention on increasingly important press freedom and censorship issues that are arising in China and in its immediate neighborhood,” said Freedom House Executive Director David J. Kramer.
“We anticipate that the China Media Bulletin will be a useful tool for policy makers, press freedom advocates, scholars, journalists and others with an interest in the free flow of information in Asia.”
