Mikhail Khodorkovsky to be Keynote Speaker at Freedom House Awards Dinner

Mikhail Khodorkovsky, the fierce critic of the Kremlin who was imprisoned for 10 years on politically motivated charges, will make his first major address in the United States since his release when he gives the keynote speech at the Freedom House Annual Awards Dinner on October 1.

Also at the event, Freedom House will honor Maina Kiai, founder of the Kenya Human Rights Commission, as well as Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.), co-chair of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission and the Congressional Human Rights Caucus.

The Annual Awards Dinner will take place at the Newseum, 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, D.C., beginning at 6:30 p.m.
