In response to the Presidential Office of Moldova preventing an accredited journalist,  Constantin Gigorita, from attending a series of public events, despite court rulings affirming the right to access to public information, Freedom House issued the following statement:

"Favoring some journalists and barring others from public events raises serious concerns about President Dodon's commitment to government transparency and freedom of expression as core democratic values," said Marc Behrendt, director of Eurasia programs at Freedom House. "The Presidential Office should guarantee public access to information in accordance with court rulings and international standards, and end its practice of selectively excluding journalists."
