Lisa Davis is senior advisor for international legal affairs at Freedom House promoting human rights and the rule of law. Ms. Davis is an member of the executive staff and advises Freedom House on questions of international and foreign law in its operations, programming, and advocacy. She is a lawyer with over 23 years of legal and democracy building experience. Ms. Davis manages Freedom House's RIGHTS Consortium, a global partnership between Freedom House, the American Bar Association, and the National Democratic Institute and serves as the technical lead for Freedom House’s human rights and justice initiatives. She has developed and expanded a portfolio of Freedom House human rights defender support programs in 5 regions of the world, directed programs to advance transitional justice in over 14 countries, and designed rule of law programming in 30+ countries. She represents Freedom House in international human rights fora. Prior to her international work, Ms. Davis was a trial attorney with the federal government prosecuting fraud cases, and country director for two separate democracy and rule of law projects in Albania. Ms. Davis graduated with a Masters in International and Comparative Law with distinction from the Georgetown University Law Center and with a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia, School of Law.
