former Senior Director for Program Strategy, Development and Learning
Vukasin Petrovic servered as the former Senior Director for Program Strategy and as the Technical Director for USAID funded Human Rights Support Mechanism. He is responsible for defining Freedom House’s thematic and regional program priorities, design and oversight of cutting edge programs that focus on human rights advocacy and campaigns, support to human rights defenders in closing and closed environments and civil society uses of emerging technologies.
Mr. Petrovic has over two decades of experience with a range of human rights and democracy support programs, including serving as Freedom House’s Director for Africa Programs and Project Director for Zimbabwe. Before joining Freedom House, he was a consultant for several organizations, including the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the International Republican Institute (IRI) in Eastern Europe, Latin America, and Africa. Mr. Petrovic was a prominent student leader in Belgrade, Serbia during the 1990s and later earned a Master’s degree with distinction in Media Studies from City University, London.
