Freedom House is concerned about the escalating tension between the governing FRELIMO party and the opposition RENAMO party, fueled by the attempted assassination of RENAMO Secretary-General Manuel Bissopo.

On January 27 a court in Kyiv ruled in favor of an indefinite delay of neighborhood district council elections scheduled for March 27 in the Ukrainian capital.

The property damage at Human Right House is part of the series of violent attacks against journalists, politicians, academics and open-minded government officials in Serbia.

The Zimbabwean Constitutional Court has ruled to ban marriage by girls under 18 years of age.
