Meto Koloski
Director, Development
Meto Koloski is the director of development at Freedom House. Since joining in April 2022, he has led strategic fundraising efforts, built cross-sector donor partnerships, and strengthened institutional support for Freedom House’s mission to expand and defend freedom globally.
Before Freedom House, Koloski served for thirteen years as president of the United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD), which he co-founded in 2004 and helped build into a global nonprofit with operations in five countries across three continents. He also led advocacy efforts that advanced Macedonian NATO and EU aspirations and established the Congressional Macedonian Caucus.
A passionate human rights advocate, Koloski has testified before the U.S. Congress, led high-level international delegations, and worked on Uyghur human rights issues related to the global automaking industry. His insights have been featured in The Washington Post, The Washington Times, Voice of America, Toronto Star, BBC, SBS (Australia), DW, and Emerging Europe, among other outlets. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from Manhattanville University and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Government Relations Association, and the World Affairs Councils of Sarasota and St. Petersburg, Florida.
