Asia-Pacific Programs
Freedom House supported citizens and civil society actors across Asia in asserting their rights and advocating for a greater say in how they are governed.
Freedom House’s work in and on Asia aligned with the needs of civil society actors and human rights defenders in the region. This includes:
- Supporting, protecting and defending civic space, civil society and human rights defenders (HRDs);
- Countering authoritarianism and transnational repression (TNR);
- Countering digital authoritarianism and disinformation across the IndoPacific; and,
- Promoting cultural resilience and freedom of religion and belief (FORB).

Lifeline Emergency Assistance Programs
Freedom House administers several funds which offer emergency assistance to organizations and individuals around the world who are under threat because of their human rights work.
Europe & Eurasia Programs
Through a robust portfolio of projects on the ground, emergency assistance, international advocacy, and special research Freedom House supported citizens and civic groups across the region to actively participate in reforms, seek accountability for injustice, and implement meaningful ways to engage citizens as allies and supporters.
Africa Programs
Freedom House partnered with civil society and human rights defenders throughout Africa to advance respect for human rights, strengthen democratic governance, and fortify just rule of law.
