Freedom House supported citizens and civil society actors across Asia in asserting their rights and advocating for a greater say in how they are governed.
Freedom House’s work in and on Asia aligned with the needs of civil society actors and human rights defenders in the region. This includes:
- Supporting, protecting and defending civic space, civil society and human rights defenders (HRDs);
- Countering authoritarianism and transnational repression (TNR);
- Countering digital authoritarianism and disinformation across the IndoPacific; and,
- Promoting cultural resilience and freedom of religion and belief (FORB).

Lifeline Emergency Assistance Programs
