Gabriela Ivanova

Gabriela Ivanova is the 2023-24 Freedom in the World Junior Fellow for Europe. She graduated from Williams College with a B.A. in Political Science and History (minor in Russian). She is interested in the way that authoritarian regimes interact on the foreign stage, and what that means for domestic politics and human rights. Before joining Freedom House, Gabriela interned at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, where she assisted with Russian public polls and wrote about the effect of the war in Ukraine on European countries. She also pursued independent research in Australia, examining the white majority’s views on indigenous education and healthcare causing a gap in quality of life.
