Freedom House President Michael J. Abramowitz joined former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright at the Korbel School’s Denver Democracy Summit for a joint session on ‘The State of Democracy Around the World.’ More than 60 speakers and 3,000 participants participated in the two-day event.
The Denver Democracy Summit was hosted virtually by the Josef Korbel School of International Studies in partnership with the Alliance of Democracies Foundation. The event was a complement to the Copenhagen Democracy Summit, a high-level strategic forum organized by the Alliance of Democracies Foundation over the summer of 2020.
Through keynote speakers and moderated panels, the Summit explored four key themes:
- The State of U.S. Democracy
- Democratic Erosion Around the World
- Climate Change, COVID-19, Disinformation and Other Existential Threats to Democratic Governance
- Civic Engagement
Recordings from this year's sessions are available on the Korbel School YouTube Channel.
