Please join Freedom House, PEN America and the Committee to Protect Journalists, in conjunction with the Open Gov Hub for a special literary salon and happy hour! This intimate evening will celebrate the publication of a book of poetry by Tsi Conrad The Kondengui Chronicles: A Place of Hope.

Tsi Conrad, a journalist in Cameroon who has been unjustly imprisoned for over 9 years, wrote this book of poetry from his cell where he remains in the notorious Kondengui Central Prison. In his writing Tsi shares his struggle – and the struggle of Cameroon's Anglophone peoples – for freedom. His book is available for purchase on Amazon and a number of complimentary copies will be available at the event.

If you feel inclined, bring a poem, a short reading, a limerick, or haiku relating to the evening's theme – freedom or read one of Mr. Conrad's poems from his new book. We will welcome a few guests to share excerpts that inspire them during the evening. You can indicate your interest on the RSVP form.
