One year after the killing of Mahsa Amini, protesters in Iran continue to hold the line in defiance of the regime, with Iranian women leading the way. Despite global protests providing greater visibility and political attention to the plight of Iranian women, the movement has yet to threaten the foundations of the regime.
Freedom House joins the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace & Security and Iranian Cultural Society for a discussion on the trajectory of the ongoing protest in Iran, the role of women and diaspora, the current landscape of sanctions enforcement and multilateral mechanisms, and the way forward for advancing international action.
