In recognition of the first anniversary of the historic July 11th protests (11J) in Cuba, Freedom House joins Cubalex, Institute for War and Peace Reporting, and Justicia 11J for a virtual event.

 #SOSCuba: A Year Without Justice

As we approach the first anniversary of the historic July 11th protests (11J) in Cuba, Freedom House, Cubalex, Institute for War and Peace Reporting, and Justicia 11J, present #SOS Cuba: A Year Without Justice. The virtual event will be held in Spanish with simultaneous interpretation in English by Zoom.

The event will feature the launch of Cubalex and Justicia 11J’s latest report, in addition to a moderated panel discussion in which international experts will reflect on report findings and provide inputs into how the international community can better support the Cuban people in achieving human rights for all and the release of political prisoners.

About the Report: Produced by Cubalex and Justicia 11J, this special report describes and analyzes patterns of Cuban State repression following the historic 11J protest and includes information of arrests, and administrative and criminal proceedings the occurred in the year that followed the arbitrary arrest and detentions of 1,000+ 11J political prisoners.

En el marco del primer aniversario de las manifestaciones históricas del 11 de julio (11J) en Cuba, Freedom House, Cubalex, Institute for War and Peace Reporting, y Justicia 11J, le invita a #SOSCuba: Un Año Sin Justicia.  El evento virtual será en español con interpretación simultánea en inglés por Zoom.


El evento contará con la presentación de un informe especial y una discusión moderada de un panel de personas expertas, quienes compartirán sus impresiones sobre los resultados del informe. De igual forma, dicho panel exhortará a la comunidad internacional a brindar más apoyo al pueblo cubano en su lucha por el reconocimiento de sus derechos humanos y la liberación de los presos políticos.

Sobre el Informe:  Producido por Cubalex y Justicia 11J este informe especial describe y analiza los patrones represivos desarrollados por el Estado Cubano como parte de su respuesta a las protestas del 11 de julio. El informe fue realizado a partir de la sistematización de información sobre detenciones y procesos administrativos y penales iniciados contra los manifestantes.
