Alejandra Argueta
Deputy Director, Latin America and the Caribbean Programs
Alejandra Pamela Argueta has over a decade of experience in the human rights field, with expertise in program development and management in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Since 2022, Ms. Argueta has served as Deputy Director of Freedom House’s LAC programs, providing leadership and oversight for projects that seek to support civil society development and democracy. She has 14 years of combined experience working in sensitive environments. She received her B.A. from the College of William and Mary in International Relations and Latin American Studies. She is a graduate of the George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs, earning a M.A. in Latin American and Hemispheric Studies with a concentration in Anthropology and Migration. While in graduate school she researched boarder security and child migration from the Northern Triangle. She is the co-author of the report The Realities of Returning Home: Youth Repatriation in Guatemala, published on the Wilson Center website.
