Acknowledgements: Election Watch

Tracking the intersection of elections, internet platforms, and human rights around the world.

Election Watch for the Digital Age is a collaborative effort between Freedom House staff. The following staff are instrumental in producing this research: Grant Baker, Allie Funk, Cathryn Grothe, Maddie Masinsin, Kian Vesteinsson, and Tessa Weal. The Election Watch team is grateful to the many colleagues within Freedom House who regularly share indispensable insight on all countries covered by the project. 

Election Watch has also worked with a network of external researchers who provide expertise on the countries we track. Consultants conduct original research on a range of issues related to digital media space, relevant technical and legal controls, and the political environment. 

Sandra Aceng is a program manager at Women of Uganda Network. She is a gender and ICT researcher, policy analyst, and writer, and is a Global Voices contributor, a 2020 Global Network Initiative (GNI)/Internews Fellow, and a Wikimedian.

Atnafu Brhane is a digital rights advocate and a program director at the Center for Advancement of Rights and Democracy (CARD).

Griselda Colina is a consultant and researcher specializing in democracy, media and elections. She serves as executive director of the Observatorio Global de Comunicación y Democracia, and is an associate researcher at the Instituto de Investigaciones de la Comunicación at Universidad Central de Venezuela.

María Fernanda Madriz is a researcher and professor at the Instituto de Investigaciones de la Comunicación at Universidad Central de Venezuela and is the coordinator of the university’s Observatory of Disinformation, Rumors and False News.

Iria Puyosa is a political communications researcher and consultant specialized in social media and politics, information warfare, and networked social movements. 

Oliver Spencer is an advisor to Free Expression Myanmar (FEM).

Freedom House would also like to thank Kristen Kao for advising on the Jordan assessment and Jared Thompson for advising on the Burkina Faso and Chad assessments.
