Welcome Summer Legal Fellow Brianna Csontos!
Freedom House is thrilled to welcome Brianna Csontos as a Summer Legal Fellow! Working primarily with the Fred Hiatt Program to Free Political Prisoners, Brianna will support the program’s wide-ranging advocacy to free political prisoners throughout the world, including Pastor Ezra Jin Mingri, who is imprisoned by the Chinese Communist Party for leading one of China’s largest underground “house churches;” and Tsi Conrad, a Cameroonian journalist imprisoned for documenting government repression against the country’s Anglophone minority.
Brianna is a rising second-year law student at Georgetown University Law Center, transferring from the George Washington University Law School, where she was a Public Interest Scholar and Professorial Scholar. Prior to law school, Brianna worked in refugee resettlement programs at the International Rescue Committee, HIAS, and Lutheran Social Services, where many of her clients were former political prisoners. She holds a BA in Political Science and Human Rights from Columbia University, where she trained with the men’s wrestling team while competing for Team USA.
